"Trusting in God and Ministering to the Gallatin Valley since 1868, Saint James is a Loving Community of Faith that provides an Episcopal Presence through Worship, Sacrament and Service."

Dear Friends,

As the Rector of Saint James, I welcome you to our website.  I hope you find it helpful and informative.  We consider it a valuable tool in our ongoing ministry to the Gallatin Valley and beyond.

Bozeman Episcopalians began worshipping together in 1868 under the loving care of Bishop Daniel Tuttle.  Our first parish church was built in 1876 and named Saint James, after a sponsoring parish in Philadelphia by the same name.  Our current structure was built in 1890 and is on The National Historic Register.

Saint James is a parish family of over 500 loving people.  The parish has over 50 active ministries involving over 250 lay ministers.  We also have a gifted staff of clergy and laity, with years of ministerial experience.  Saint James and its productive mutual ministry has become a recognized leader in the city of Bozeman, the Gallatin Valley and the Diocese of Montana.

On behalf of the parish family, I invite you to join us on a Sunday morning for worship, anytime you find yourself in our area.  Bozeman is central to much of Montana's tourism, with Yellowstone National Park, The Bridger Range, Big Sky Resort and World-Class Fly Fishing nearby.  We hope you'll stop by and visit us during your travels.

Faithfully,

The Reverend Canon Dr. Clark M. Sherman
