JAIL MINISTRY

MATTHEW 25 TEAM MINISTRY
Monday mornings, 7:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M., Deacon Roxanne Klingensmith visits the jail offering morning devotions for both men and women. From 1:30 - 5:00 P.M., she sees inmates one on one for pastoral care to those inmates who need someone to talk to.

COMPUTER TRAINING
Wednesday or Friday afternoons, 2:30 P.M. - 4:30 P.M., Deacon Connie Campbell works with inmates in the computer lab, offering basic skills in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Typing. She helps men and women to make stationary, create a resume, write letters to the judge, learn the basics of Office software. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Connie. You will need to fill out an application at the Detention Center and take general training first. Contact Jackie Keery, 406-582-2482 Programs Director.

SPIRITUAL CARE
Both Deacon Roxanne and Deacon Connie are available to the Detention Center officers for emergency spiritual care for inmates as needed.

PRISON MINISTRY

FREEDOM IN CHRIST
Both Deacon Roxanne and Deacon Connie are trained religious volunteers at Montana State Prison in Deer Lodge for men. We work with the Religious Activities Center and serve on the board of Freedom in Christ, an ecumenical board that has hired a full time ELCA pastor to minister to the inmates. Deacon Roxanne visits inmates that request a visit. Deacon Connie assists Pastor Rob Nedbalek with worship on Wednesdays, twice a month - serving both the high side and low side of the prison.

There are a number of volunteer opportunities available through Freedom in Christ. Download the forms here. Once you are approved, you can travel with us and enjoy a unique experience to see first hand what inmates are really like and their environment.
